Scalability of Raw Materials
As one of the world’s largest agricultural hubs, Southeast Asia presents a scalable and consistent multi-country supply of agricultural by-products. Through engagement with farmers, social cooperatives and major producers, we have secured access to raw materials such as pineapple leaves from Thailand and coconut husks from Indonesia. There are also plans to diversify and source for new agricultural waste in Southeast Asia.
Key statistics*:
At 1.7 million tonnes per year, Thailand is one of the world’s largest pineapple producers, as well as the world’s top producer of smooth cayenne variety.
In Indonesia, coconut production is the world’s largest here, generating 17.1 million tonnes per year.
