SINGAPORE – Agricultural waste specialist Nextevo is working with farmers in Southeast Asia to create ready-to-spin fibres and yarns from pineapple leaves.

The company is combining agricultural waste from pineapple production with other more sustainable fibres including organic cotton, lyocell and recycled polyester.

Nextevo says the resulting blended yarns are suitable for a range of applications including denim apparel, footwear, upholstery and bath towels.
